Full touchscreen Galaxy Y Duos and Qwerty Galaxy Y Pro Duos run on Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
Samsung has introduced two new dual-SIM supporting smartphones — Galaxy Y Duos and Galaxy Y Pro Duos. The Google Android operating system based Galaxy Y smartphones targeted at the young professionals who wish for a phone accommodating two SIMs at the same time. Loaded with Android 2.3 Gingerbread, both Galaxy Y Duos and Galaxy Y Pro Duos will be made available in January 2012 in Europe, CIS, Russia, India, Middle East, Africa, China and South East-West Asia.
The Galaxy Y Duos is a full touchscreen handset styled with polished metallic casing and features 3.14 inch touchscreen display. It also features the Samsung's own cross-platform ChatON chat app and Social Hub Premium.
While the Galaxy Y Pro Duos has a Qwerty keypad and sports 2.6 inch display. Targeted at the business class folks, this handset too has the dual-SIM support along with pre-loaded apps such as Polaris and Find My Mobile.
Both Galaxy Y series handsets feature Android 2.3 Gingerbread with layer of TouchWiz custom user interface on it. Under the hood, both smartphones will have a modest 832 MHz mobile processor to power the OS.
Samsung aims to offer the affordable dual-SIM Android smartphone options to the consumers and we believe these handset might be priced anywhere between Rs 9,000 to Rs 12,000.
